Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of assigned rooms, common areas, restrooms, entrances, and other areas of district facilities.
Perform tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning surfaces, emptying waste containers, cleaning windows and mirrors, and replenishing supplies.
Clean and maintain restrooms, fixtures, and other areas to appropriate sanitary standards.
Remove and properly dispose of trash, debris, and other waste.
Respond to spills and other cleaning needs in a timely manner.
Perform periodic and corrective cleaning as needed, including floor care, carpet care, glass cleaning, wall cleaning, and other deep-cleaning activities.
Operate and maintain custodial equipment and tools in a safe and effective manner.
Maintain clean, organized, and appropriately stocked custodial supply areas.
Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and other items as needed.
Assist with building and event setup and cleanup.
Identify and report maintenance, safety, security, or other facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Assist with seasonal grounds and weather-related duties, including snow removal and other outdoor maintenance as needed.
Follow established safety procedures and appropriately use cleaning products, equipment, tools, and other materials.
Work cooperatively with custodial staff, district employees, students, and others.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous custodial, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Must maintain current state-required clearances.
Valid driver's license may be required based on assigned duties.

Knowledge of general custodial practices, cleaning methods, and safety procedures.
Ability to safely use cleaning products, custodial equipment, tools, and related materials.

Ability to adapt to changing assignments, priorities, procedures, and building needs.
Ability to recognize and report safety, maintenance, and facility concerns.

Ability to maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with others.
PHYSICAL WORK DEMANDSBe able to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, or stoop to inspect work, handle resources and materials.
Have the ability to ascend or descend ladders or stairs.
Have the ability to reach above and below shoulder level to handle materials or use work related resources.
Have the ability to occasionally sit on the floor to work with materials or equipment.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Possess near and far acuity to monitor people, equipment, other objects, or vehicles at near and far distances.
Ability to walk about work area to perform tasks and complete usual work activities.
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone assisted or unassisted by hearing devices.
May be required to occasionally lift items weighing up to 40 lbs. and frequently lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. such as buckets of water, vacuum, and trash.
