Education, Training, and/or Experience Requirements:
|
- Experience in board governance and meeting protocols preferred
- Strong administrative and office management skills
- Associate’s degree preferred supplemented by creativity and strong organizational and technology skills.

Additional Requirement:

- Valid driver’s license, Current state-required clearances
|
Selection Process:
|
District personnel will review and score applications, resumes and reference letters (“application materials”) based on each applicant’s stated education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. The District will schedule interviews with candidates whose application materials score the highest. The District will conduct panel interviews and may ask candidates to perform additional exercises or tests during the selection process.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
|
- Project management skills used to manage multiple short- or long-term projects concurrently and ensure tasks are completed on time and according to established standards.
- Leadership skills used to achieve organizational objectives; experience leading, developing, and providing corrective feedback that results in positive work outcomes and productive leader- subordinate work relationships.
- Self-management skills and ability to work independently.
- Type, revise, and distribute district documents which may include memos, newsletters, website, policies, administrative guidelines, meeting agendas, or other documents.
- Complete all state reports as required, including E-Strategic Plan and Civil Rights Data Collection.
- Maintain professional personnel listing for permanent records and state audits.
- Complete all correspondence as required for the Office of the Superintendent.
- Notarize all forms as required.
- Supervise preparation and dissemination of the district calendar.
- Report Act 48 hours for all professional staff through the PERMS system.
- Prepare yearly list of Board Meeting Dates, Board Members and Term Limits.
- Properly advertise all meetings of the Board including Study Sessions and Limited Agenda Meetings.
- Disseminate and maintain yearly Statements of Financial Interests.
- Prepare, disseminate and post Board Meeting, Study Session and Limited Agenda Meetings Agendas.
- Prepare, disseminate and post minutes of Board Meetings, Study Sessions and Limited Agenda. Meetings.
- Prepare and disseminate all correspondence following monthly Board and Limited Agenda Meetings.
- Coordinate updating of Board Policies with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.
- Record and Respond to Right to Know requests, serving as Right to Know officer.
- Serve as homeless liaison.
- Share events to third-party providers, when needed.
- Distribute weekly district-wide newsletter and design brochures or publications as needed.
- Promote information in the District, including some social media content.
- Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the District’s policies, principles and strategies, and to keep up-to-date with relevant developments.
- Arrange and coordinate press conferences, and plan events.
- Support internal communications activities on an as-needed basis.
- Assist with coordinating activities and preparing documents, communications, and awards for special events.
- Perform duties to support communications and operations of the General McLane Foundation. These duties may include support in marketing events.
- Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Interpersonal skills used to work effectively with teams including skill in managing conflict or differences of opinion.
- Skill in organizing materials and information electronically or physically to allow for efficient retrieval of information.
- Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when dealing with students and/or parents and their personal and educational needs.
- Skill in using a variety of programs that may include but is not limited to the Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) in a business or agency setting.
- Special duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Answer, initiate and/or transfer phone calls to respond to parent questions regarding their children, school events, closings, and other matters related to the operations of the school building.
- Assist with the development and management of district-wide initiatives, as needed.

Physical Word Demands:
|
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the telephone assisted or unassisted by hearing devices.
- Possess near and far visual acuity to monitor people, equipment, other objects, or vehicles at near and far distances.
- Ability to periodically stand for extended periods of time.
- May be required to lift items such as files or documents weighing up to 10 lbs.
